Ekonomiese taakspan vir die Vrystaat

Die Vrystaatse Premier, me.

Brain advisory council established

The BRAIN Programme (Business Referral Advisory Information Network) in Pretoria has established a council of persons involved in the emerging business sector to advise it on its functioning in the field. The council consists of Ms. Letta Mabuya of The Kleco Business Centre on the East Rand, Messrs. Jo Zeelie of the PE Technikon Entrepreneurial Centre, Paul Maribate of the Northern Province SMME Support Agency, Owen Fielding of the Technology Enterprise Centre in Cape Town and Dr. Johann Dannhauser of The Business Bulletin in Bloemfontein.

The council held its firs meeting on 16 November 2001 in Pretoria. After having been briefed by the Manager of BRAIN, Ms. Emilie Pretorius and the Assistant Manager, Mr. Thami Bolani, on the success achieved so far, enhancement of the service delivery of BRAIN was discussed in detail. The two main points emerging from the discussion was, firstly, that the BRAIN system should be made much more accessible to people at grassroots level, probably through public Internet points at schools, etc. Secondly, it was felt that the business service centres across the country affiliated to BRAIN should be drastically capacitated to provide a much better follow-up service to initial enquiries to BRAIN, which are being recorded and appropriately referred.
