Current Free State Tourism Authority
It is noticed in some media that the Free State Tourism Authority and in particular its CEO, Ms. Phomolo Mokuele, is in the line of firing. While the Free State Business Bulletin does not take sides and as we do not dispose of all the facts, it needs to be pointed out that simple facts reflect a few pointers: Firstly, this is the third Free State Tourism Authority since 1995 and one which has clearly achieved much more practical results than its two predecessors put together. This applies to staff who has achieved a lot, office premises of which the province can be proud of, an excellent corporate image, successful marketing and representation of tourism in the province at international exhibitions and fora, etc. Secondly, who wishes to dispute that Macufe 2006 which the FSTA organised – the first one held with the Bloemfontein Showgrounds as main premises – was the best attended ever? Who wishes to speak complimentary about Macufe 2007? Thirdly, no one is guilty until proven so in a fair court of law. Accusations should be based on solid facts. Trial in the media as such is no good.
