Geluk Kroonstad!
The transport challenge
Transport literally provides the wheels of business and progress and in this edition of the Free State Business Bulletin it is clearly pointed out that the roads network in the Free State - as the most central and most traversed province in the country - cannot cope with the load and is crumbling.
Fortunately the indications are that the main roleplayers - Spoornet, the provincial department and the national road agency are in agreement that the time has come for the swing back to rail. Hopefully the business sector will also take the cue and start implementing due steps.
May this modest feature in the Free State Business Bulletin assist in fast-tracking a process to bring rail back in the Free State and in South Africa - so to speak. It is a major challenge to our burgeoning economy.
