Toerimse positiewe uitlaatklep
Met die grootskaalse probleme waarmee Suid-Afrikaners en ook Vrystaters tans worstel, bied die ontwikkeling van ons toerismepotensiaal 'n uitstekende positiewe uitlaatklep. Daar is sóveel geleenthede – geskiedkundige plekke en besienswaardighede in feitlik elke uithoek van die Vrystaat, in die gasvryheidsbedryf, vakansie- en jagplase, sporttoerisme, ens. – te veel om op te noem!
Toerisme is węreldwyd een van die snelgroeiende bedrywe en iets wat ontwikkelingsgeleenthede vir feitlik elkeen bied. Kom ons benut dit!
Power failures - never "normal"
As indicated in the front page story of this edition, the current electrical power failures (“load-shedding” is a misnomer) is a phenomenon which could have been averted either completely or to a great extent. Therefore we as citizens of this country can never accept these man-made failures as normal, especially if we continue to pay normal rates for it. Moreover, we suffer grievously for it.
If other industrialised countries can keep up their electricity supplies, why can't SA? We can and should never accept this calamity as “normal”.
